W. Rafer Leach, M.D. -

Emergency Physician, Martial Arts Instructor and Owner of Colorado Accident & Trauma Specialists.

Dr. Leach is presently a full-time attending physician in the Emergency Department at Lutheran Medical Center, and part-time faculty at Denver Health Medical Center.

He graduated from Denver Health Medical Center Residency in Emergency Medicine, one of the top Trauma & Emergency Residency Programs in the country, with emphasis in the area of motor vehicle related injuries. Dr. Leach also trained in Anesthesiology at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL where he studied advanced nerve block and pain management techniques.

Prior to his medical training, Dr. Leach graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Philosophy and a minor in English. He was a Division I Tennis player on Full-Scholarship for four years for the Universities of New Mexico and Minnesota, where he was a Big Ten Champion in 1989. He played on the ATP tour until his acceptance into Medical School at the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1993.
